Applied Performance Products offers a Cummins 6.7L 66MM Billet Compressor Wheel and Cover Kit that was developed to improve the performance of the Cummins 6.7L Holset HE351VE turbocharger.
This high performance billet wheel and cover kit consist of a 66MM 11 Bladed High Strength A-356 Aluminum Alloy CNC Machined Compressor Wheel along with a Cast A356 Aluminum compressor housing machined to accept this new high performance wheel. The larger compressor wheel increases the available airflow while improving the turbine/compressor balance. This combination reduces the drive pressure on the turbine wheel and lowers exhaust gas temperature. The exhaust brake characteristics are not affected by the installation of the Applied Performance Products Billet Wheel and Cover.

How is the installation of the turbo kit going to help my motor?
This Cummins 6.7L turbo upgrade also promotes a longer service life by balancing the air flow rates of the inlet and output sides of the turbocharger. A turbo with a now balanced load helps prevent the all too common stock 6.7L Cummins turbo failures. Excessive exhaust drive pressures force the center shaft to deviate off its proper axis. This shifting then allows contact between the compressor wheel and the turbo housing creating a catastrophic failure of the turbocharger.
What type of improvement in throttle response does this offer?
We tested this wheel and cover kit on one of our trucks and found that the spool-up of the turbo was dramatically quicker. When accelerating from cruising speed there was also a very noticeable difference in the Mid to High RPM bands. This allowed more usable power when you need it the most.
Does this kit require any modification?
No, it is designed as a direct bolt-on upgrade containing all the gaskets and seals required for installation.
Do I lose the functionality of my exhaust brake?
No that is the best part of this kit as it fully retains the functionality of the OEM exhaust brake.
