Replacement Turbochargers

Why would I want to put a higher performance turbocharger?

Turbochargers are a type of forced induction system. They compress the air flowing into the engine. The advantage of compressing more air is that it lets the engine squeeze more air into a cylinder, and more air means that more fuel can be added. Therefore, you get more power from each explosion in each cylinder. A turbocharged engine produces more power overall than the same engine without the turbocharger. With an increased performance turbocharger you can burn the same amount of fuel in a far more efficient manner to make more power. You can also add more fuel to increase your motors power level output.

Applied Performance Products upgraded turbochargers for the Ford Powerstroke and Dodge Cummins applications produce the following benefits:

  • Reduced turbocharger lag and faster spooling.
  • Turbos use a step gap oil seal.
  • Maximum performance
  • Lower exhaust gas temperatures
  • Increased power and engine efficiency.
  • Elimination of the compressor surge and the annoying turbo bark.

Applied performance products integrate a new stepped gap turbine shaft seal in all of their turbochargers. This step gap seal provides a superior seal over the stock style turbine seal. This excellent seal keeps your turbine wheel clean and free of deposits and crud caused by oil leaking through the seal.
